Windshield Replacement Warranty

  1. What This Warranty Covers

Auto Glass Express provides a Limited Lifetime Warranty on the workmanship of all windshield replacement services performed at any of our authorized locations. This warranty covers defects in installation workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the vehicle.

Specifically, this warranty covers the following workmanship-related defects:

  • Water leaks or air leaks resulting from improper sealing of the windshield
  • Moldings or trim pieces coming loose or detaching due to improper installation
  • Wind noise caused by defective installation or improper seating of the glass
  • Stress cracks that develop as a direct result of improper installation techniques

Auto Glass Express additionally guarantees against stress cracks that arise from workmanship errors at the time of installation. Stress cracks that develop from road hazards, impacts, temperature extremes unrelated to installation, or pre-existing conditions are not covered under this warranty.

  1. What This Warranty Does Not Cover

This Limited Lifetime Warranty does not cover the following:

  • Damage caused by road hazards, rocks, debris, accidents, or acts of nature
  • Chips, cracks, or breakage resulting from impact after installation
  • Stress cracks caused by vehicle frame damage or pre-existing body conditions
  • Damage resulting from improper use, abuse, or neglect by the vehicle owner
  • Defects in the glass itself (covered separately by the glass manufacturer, if applicable)
  • Any repairs, modifications, or reinstallation performed by a third party without written authorization from Auto Glass Express
  • Consequential or incidental damages of any kind
  1. Right of Inspection

Auto Glass Express reserves the right to inspect any reported installation issue before authorizing warranty service. All warranty claims must be reported directly to Auto Glass Express and an inspection appointment must be scheduled at an authorized Auto Glass Express location.

Failure to allow Auto Glass Express the opportunity to inspect the reported issue prior to any repair or corrective action being taken shall result in the immediate forfeiture of all warranty coverage.

IMPORTANT — WARRANTY VOID IF:

Taking the vehicle to another shop or having the installation inspected, repaired, or altered by any party other than Auto Glass Express — without prior written authorization — will automatically void this warranty in its entirety.

  1. Unauthorized Repairs & Financial Responsibility

Auto Glass Express is not financially responsible for any repairs, corrective work, or related expenses incurred by the customer or any third party without prior written authorization from Auto Glass Express.

If a customer chooses to have warranty-related work performed by another provider without first obtaining written authorization from Auto Glass Express, all costs associated with such repairs shall be the sole responsibility of the customer. Auto Glass Express will not reimburse, credit, or assume liability for any unauthorized repair charges.

  1. Insurance & Industry Guidelines

Warranty terms, service procedures, and replacement standards applied by Auto Glass Express are subject to and governed by the guidelines established by the relevant insurance company and applicable industry standards, including but not limited to the Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standards (AGRSS).

In cases where a windshield replacement is covered by an insurance claim, the scope of warranty coverage and service terms may be further defined or limited by the terms of the applicable insurance policy and the instructions of the insuring party. Auto Glass Express will communicate any such limitations at the time of service.

  1. How to Make a Warranty Claim

To submit a warranty claim, please follow these steps:

  • Contact the Auto Glass Express location that performed the original installation.
  • Provide your name, vehicle information, and the date of original service.
  • Allow an Auto Glass Express technician to inspect the reported issue.
  • Do not allow any third-party repairs or modifications prior to inspection.

Warranty service will be provided at no charge if the reported defect is determined to fall within the scope of this warranty following inspection.

Windshield Rock Chip Repair Warranty

IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT CHIP REPAIR

Windshield chip repair is a structural repair — not a cosmetic one. The purpose of a rock chip repair is to restore the structural integrity of the glass and prevent the damage from spreading. Auto Glass Express does not guarantee that a chip repair will be invisible or that the chip will disappear after the repair is completed.

 This is consistent with industry standards and is clearly communicated to every customer prior to service. 

IMPORTANT — SCOPE OF REFUND

The remedy provided under this warranty is strictly limited to a refund of the chip repair service fee paid by the customer. This warranty does not cover, and Auto Glass Express will not be responsible for, the cost of a full windshield replacement under any circumstances related to a chip repair
  1. Nature of Chip Repair — Understanding the Service

A windshield rock chip repair is a professional structural procedure in which a specialized resin is injected into the damaged area of the glass to restore its strength, prevent further cracking, and maintain the windshield’s structural integrity.

By accepting chip repair service, the customer acknowledges and agrees to the following:

  • Chip repair is a structural repair intended to stop the damage from spreading — it is not a cosmetic procedure.
  • The resin used in the repair process may reduce the visibility of the chip but will not make it fully disappear.
  • Auto Glass Express makes no representation, promise, or guarantee that the chip will be invisible or undetectable after the repair.
  • The appearance of the repaired area will vary depending on the size, type, age, and location of the original damage.
  • Results are considered successful when the structural integrity of the glass has been restored and the crack has been stabilized.
  1. Our Guarantee — What We Promise

Auto Glass Express Chip Repair Guarantee

 

We guarantee that a properly completed chip repair will prevent the damage from spreading. If a chip repaired by Auto Glass Express spreads or extends after the repair has been completed, we will refund the full cost of the repair service.

 

The customer will not be charged for a chip repair that fails to hold.

Specifically, this warranty provides the following protections:

  • If the chip repair fails and the crack spreads after service, the customer will receive a full refund of the chip repair cost paid.
  • The customer will not be charged for a chip repair that does not hold — no payment will be collected for an unsuccessful repair.
  • This refund represents the total remedy available under this warranty for a failed chip repair.
  1. Limitation of Remedy — Refund Only

The remedy provided under this warranty is strictly limited to a refund of the chip repair service fee paid by the customer. This warranty does not cover, and Auto Glass Express will not be responsible for, the cost of a full windshield replacement under any circumstances related to a chip repair.

Chip repairs carry an inherent risk that the damage may continue to spread or extend after repair, due to factors outside of Auto Glass Express’s control, including but not limited to temperature changes, road vibration, vehicle flex, and pre-existing stress in the glass. In the event that a chip repair extends or a crack propagates after the repair has been performed, the following limitations apply:

  • Auto Glass Express will not pay for, reimburse, or credit the cost of a full windshield replacement if the chip or crack extends after a repair has been attempted.
  • The customer’s sole remedy under this warranty is a refund of the original chip repair fee.
  • Any decision to proceed with a windshield replacement following a failed chip repair is the sole financial responsibility of the customer.
  • Auto Glass Express may, at its discretion, offer the cost of the chip repair as a credit toward a windshield replacement — but is under no obligation to do so.

Customers are advised to consult with an Auto Glass Express technician before any repair to understand whether their specific damage is a good candidate for chip repair or whether a full windshield replacement is the more appropriate solution.

  1. Conditions That May Affect Repair Success

The success of a chip repair depends on several factors present at the time of service. Auto Glass Express performs chip repairs in accordance with industry-accepted methods and standards; however, the following conditions may limit the effectiveness of the repair and are not covered under this warranty:

  • Chips or cracks that have been contaminated with dirt, moisture, or cleaning products prior to repair
  • Damage that has been previously repaired by another provider
  • Chips located in the driver’s primary line of sight, at the windshield edge, or in areas where repair is structurally inadvisable
  • Damage that extends to the inner layer (laminate) of the glass
  • Chips or cracks that are too large, too deep, or too complex for resin injection to effectively stabilize
  • Environmental exposure, extreme temperature fluctuations, or physical impact after the repair is completed

Our technicians will assess your damage prior to service and will advise you honestly if your chip is not a suitable candidate for repair. We will not perform a repair if we believe it is unlikely to succeed.

  1. Industry Standards

All windshield chip repairs performed by Auto Glass Express are conducted in accordance with the standards established by the National Windshield Repair Association (NWRA) and the Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standards (AGRSS). These standards define the acceptable types, sizes, and locations of damage suitable for repair, as well as the procedures, materials, and equipment required for a proper repair.

Damage that falls outside the parameters established by these industry standards may not be suitable for repair and may require full windshield replacement. Auto Glass Express technicians will communicate any such determination prior to beginning work.

  1. How to Request a Refund Under This Warranty

If you believe your chip repair has failed — specifically, if the crack has spread after the repair was completed — please follow these steps:

  • Contact the Auto Glass Express location that performed the original chip repair.
  • Provide your name, vehicle information, and the date of original service.
  • Bring the vehicle in for inspection by an Auto Glass Express technician.
  • Do not have the vehicle inspected or repaired by any third party prior to contacting us.
  • If the technician confirms that the crack has spread due to a failed repair, a full refund of the chip repair fee will be issued.

Refunds will not be issued without inspection and confirmation by an Auto Glass Express technician. Warranty claims must be made within a reasonable time following the original service date.
